Windows 7 Support Ends January 14, 2020
Windows 7 is due to reach End Of Life (EOL) on 14 January 2020, but a large number of the world's computers are still running the nine-year-old system.
Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 7 in January 2015, with extended support running till 14 January 2020.
This End of Life means no more bug-fixes, security patches or new functionality, making any computer significantly more susceptible to security breaches, viruses and malware attacks.
In the last 12 months I found 50% of my customers were still using Windows XP, never mind Windows 7 and the only advice I could give them before we did any lessons was for them to replace their device. One customer was even paying for anti virus support on their XP device which was effectively useless as the operating system was not getting patched with security updates.
If you haven't already done so now is the time to get off Windows 7 and move to an alternative operating system such as Windows 10 or Android.
With my experience in IT procurement, IT support and IT tutoring I can help you choose the right device, set it up for you making sure you don't lose any data from your old machine and show you how to use your new device effectively.
